Fellowship
PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP FOR PMHNPs AND PAsYou graduated.
Nobody really taught you how to practice.
Modyfi trains psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants in mind-body, functional and integrative medicine — root-cause assessment, functional labs, and the clinical skill to turn what you find into real change for your patients. Start wherever you are, from a single consult to the full year.
How to get your Licensure, Collaboration & DEA Registration
A roadmap for psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants deciding where to get licensed and how to set up to practice — the sequence in the order that actually works, which states require physician collaboration or supervision, and what the DEA requires so you don't lose your investment.
The Modyfi Approach
At Modyfi, we believe psychiatry isn't just a branch of neurology — it's connected to the whole body, and to a person's whole life. Whole-person care is where three traditions meet: mind-body, functional, and integrative medicine. None is enough on its own, but together they let you look past the prescription pad to what's really behind the symptom — and care for the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
Mind-body medicine
Assessing mental and physical health as one interconnected system, rather than triaging a patient into a purely psychiatric or purely medical lane.
Functional medicine
Identifying and addressing the root cause of a symptom rather than only its downstream expression — labs as clinical tools, not screening formalities.
Integrative medicine
Uniting conventional and complementary therapies in service of the whole person, rather than treating them as competing systems.
Your first job shouldn't decide what kind of clinician you become.
Most new grads don't choose how they practice. The system chooses for them: 15-minute med checks, someone else's patient panel, and expectations school never prepared them for. We teach the other path.
Practice where you live
Telehealth prescribing rules are changing. The temporary flexibilities expire December 31, 2026, and a stricter permanent rule is in final review. Community relationships are steadier ground.
Own your patient panel
Your patients belong to your practice, not to a platform or a network.
Time builds trust
Longer visits build rapport, better outcomes, and a practice that lasts.
Get paid for the care you provide
Insurance, cash-pay, and accurate coding, including psychotherapy add-on codes, make relationship-based visits sustainable.
I started in a community mental health clinic, confident and ready to practice. Within months I was doing 15-minute med checks and fighting for the time my patients needed. It nearly burned me out. So I left and learned everything the hard way: contracts, credentialing, finding patients. It took a year of mistakes, but by the end I had a full schedule and had brought a therapist into my practice. This program is the shortcut I didn't have.

Is the Modyfi Fellowship right for you?
A little honesty upfront, so you can decide with clarity — and feel confident either way.
This is for you if
- You're board-certified or will be in a few months as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychiatric physician assistant, psychiatrist, or any other interested health practitioner
- You want to understand why a patient is unwell, not just what to prescribe or what treatment to use
- You're curious about what functional labs can reveal, and ready to work with what they show
- You'd love to build something of your own, someday, or you want to teach
- You want to own your patient panel and practice on your own terms, not the system's

Questions we actually get
Is this accredited? Does it count for anything formally?
Not yet — but it's built on evidence. This is a private professional development program: it doesn't confer academic credit, board eligibility, or licensure standing, and isn't affiliated with ANCC or CCNE yet. What it offers is evidence-based training, live supervision, and a completion certificate — the clinical skills and confidence you carry into your own practice.
Do I need my license before I start?
For the group and the curriculum, no — they're open to anyone board-certified or close to it. For the Fellowship, and for any clinical work, yes. Licensure comes first — nothing else can start until your license is complete. After that, DEA registration and payer credentialing can move forward at the same time, so getting the order right early saves you months.
Does Modyfi provide malpractice or DEA registration support?
Not through these programs. What we offer here is education and training — malpractice coverage, DEA registration, and state licensure are things you'll set up and maintain on your own. (Payer credentialing is the exception: it's included with the Fellowship — see above.) The training prepares you clinically; those credentials stay in your hands.
Does Modyfi offer credentialing support?
Yes — and it's one of the things that sets the Fellowship apart. We help you get credentialed with federal and private insurances on your own contracts, so the business side is handled alongside the clinical training. It's included with the Fellowship as part of our Black Friday offer, through December 1.
Do I need a collaborating or supervising physician?
It depends on your role and your state. Psychiatrists don't need one. For nurse practitioners, some states grant full practice authority from year one, while others call for a formal collaborative agreement. Physician assistants generally practice with physician collaboration or supervision, though the specifics vary widely by state. Our free guide breaks down what your state requires — including whether you'll need a collaborating physician.
Can I see patients through Modyfi?
You can join our clinical directory, where you're listed as an independent provider and can collaborate with others in the Modyfi network. You keep your own patients and practice; the directory gives you visibility and a community of integrative clinicians to work alongside.
What if I buy a consult or AI Marketing and then want the full program?
Whatever you spend comes off your enrollment when you move up to Group plus curriculum or the Fellowship within 30 days. Start small with total confidence — nothing you spend is wasted.
How much time does this take?
It depends on the program. The peer group runs about four hours a month. The group-plus-curriculum is roughly five or six, including module time. The Fellowship runs eight to ten hours a month of scheduled contact, plus whatever clinical work you're doing alongside it.
Can I cancel?
The peer case group is month to month — cancel any time. Group plus curriculum and the Fellowship are one-time payments for the full year, not subscriptions, so enrollment is final once you join. If you're weighing the full year, book a free call first and we'll make sure it's the right fit.
Can I use a payment plan?
Yes. At checkout you can choose Klarna to spread the cost into monthly payments, with terms up to 24 months. You'll see your available plans, rates, and monthly amount before you confirm — nothing is locked in until you do.
