For Clinicians
You graduated.
Nobody really taught you how to practice.
Modyfi trains psychiatric nurse practitioners in mind-body, functional and integrative medicine — root-cause assessment, functional labs, and the clinical skill to turn what you find into real change for your patients. Start wherever you are, from a single consult to the full year.
How to get your Licensure, Collaboration & DEA Registration
A roadmap for nurse practitioners deciding where to get licensed and how to set up to practice — the sequence in the order that actually works, which states need a collaborating physician, and what the DEA requires so you don't lose your investment.
You'll also get case notes and new-module announcements. Unsubscribe any time.
Our Approach
At Modyfi, psychiatry isn't a branch of neurology — it's connected to the whole body, and to a person's whole life. We practice where three traditions meet: mind-body, functional, and integrative medicine. None is enough on its own, but together they let us look past the prescription pad to what's really behind it — and treat the whole person, not just the symptom.
Mind-body medicine
Assessing mental and physical health as one interconnected system, rather than triaging a patient into a purely psychiatric or purely medical lane.
Functional medicine
Identifying and addressing the root cause of a symptom rather than only its downstream expression — labs as clinical tools, not screening formalities.
Integrative medicine
Uniting conventional and complementary therapies in service of the whole person, rather than treating them as competing systems.

Is the full program right for you?
A little honesty upfront, so you can decide with clarity — and feel confident either way.
This is for you if
- You're board-certified or will be in a few months as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychiatric physicians assistant, psychiatrist, or any other interested health practitioner
- You want to understand why a patient is unwell, not just what to prescribe or what treatment to use
- You're curious about what functional labs can reveal, and ready to work with what they show
- You'd love to build something of your own, someday, or you want to teach
This might not be the right moment if
- You're still looking for a supervising physician and don't have one lined up yet
- You don't have your DEA registration or payer credentialing in place yet
- You're looking for quick protocols to follow, more than the reasoning behind them them
- You're stretched thin at the moment, and this asks for a little regular time
Questions we actually get
Is this accredited? Does it count for anything formally?
Not yet. Currently, this is a private professional development program. It doesn't confer academic credit, board eligibility, certification, or licensure standing, and it isn't affiliated with ANCC, CCNE, or any accrediting body. What you get is training, supervision, and a completion certificate that says exactly that.
Do I need my license before I start?
For Tier 1 and Tier 2, no — the group and the curriculum are open to anyone board-certified or close to it. For the Fellowship and for any clinical work, yes. The order that works is licensure first, then DEA registration, then insurance credentialing. Credentialing cannot begin before licensure is complete, and this is the single most common sequencing mistake we see.
Does Modyfi provide malpractice, DEA registration, or credentialing support?
Not with the cash-pay tiers. Tiers 1 through 3 buy curriculum, group, and supervision. Malpractice coverage, DEA registration, state licensure, and payer credentialing remain yours to obtain and maintain.
Do I need a collaborating or supervising physician?
It depends on your state. States like Arizona grant full practice authority to board-certified NPs in year one, so no supervising physician is required there. Other states differ, and some require a formal collaborative agreement. Our free guide will tell you plainly what your state requires and if you need a collaborating physician.
Can I see patients through Modyfi?
Only if you are an employee or contractor with Modyfi. We offer a contracted NP fellowship cohort to a limited number of people each year, typically starting in July or August with applications being accepted year round. Everyone else on this page is buying training.
What if I buy a consult or AI marketing and then want the full program?
Whatever you spent comes off your first invoice, as long as you enroll in Tier 2 or Tier 3 within 30 days. Nothing is wasted by starting small.
How much time does this take each week?
Tier 1 is about three hours a month. Tier 2 is roughly five or six, including module time. The Fellowship runs eight to ten hours a month of scheduled contact, plus whatever clinical work you're doing alongside it.
Can I cancel?
Tier 1 is month to month, cancel any time. Tier 2 runs a three-month term. Tier 3 is a twelve-month commitment — talk to us before you sign rather than after.
Talk it through, one-to-one.
A private working hour with Patrick Brown, PMHNP-BC, DipACLM — founder and medical director. Bring a complex case, your practice plan, or the decision you've been weighing alone. You'll leave with real clarity and a next step — no pitch.
The Modyfi Fellowship is a private, unaccredited professional development program. It does not confer academic credit, board eligibility, certification, or licensure standing, and it is not affiliated with ANCC, CCNE, or any accrediting body.
