The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating
The group is 10 weeks long and follows the Intuitive Eating principles designed by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. Just for registering for the group, we will send you a FREE copy of the official Intuitive Eating workbook written by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch which will be used for the group. Below is a brief description of what will be discussed each week.
Week 1: Reject the Diet Mentality
Let go of diet culture and the false promises of weight loss plans. Embrace freedom from restrictive eating rules that undermine your well-being.
Week 2: Honor Your Hunger
Learn to recognize your body’s hunger signals and respond with nourishment. Trust your body to guide you in meeting its energy needs.
Week 3: Make Peace with Food
Grant yourself unconditional permission to eat. Break free from the cycle of deprivation, which can lead to feelings of loss of control.
Week 4: Challenge the Food Police
Silence the inner critic that labels foods as “good” or “bad.” Develop a positive and neutral relationship with all foods.
Week 5: Feel Your Fullness
Tune into your body’s cues that signal fullness. Pause during meals to assess your satisfaction and avoid overeating.
Week 6: Discover the Satisfaction Factor
Rediscover the joy of eating. Focus on pleasure and satisfaction to make your meals more fulfilling and enjoyable.
Week 7: Cope with Your Feelings Without Using Food
Explore healthier ways to handle emotions like stress, boredom, and sadness without turning to food for comfort.
Week 8: Respect Your Body
Cultivate self-acceptance and appreciate your body for what it can do, rather than focusing on unrealistic standards.
Week 9: Exercise—Feel the Difference
Shift your focus from exercising to burn calories to moving your body in ways that feel good and promote health.
Week 10: Honor Your Health—Gentle Nutrition
Shift your focus from exercising to burn calories to moving your body in ways that feel good and promote health.
